In today’s episode, I share with you some of God’s attributes and point you back to Scripture to back it all up, so you can be in the right relationship with Him and take the steps to know Him better, seek Him more, and surrender to Him.

Your experiences alone are not going to teach you about who God is and His attributes. It is in the study of the Word that we get a robust understanding of who God truly is. 

06.06 – A few of God’s attributes:

• God is eternal; self-existent. He has no beginning and no end. (Exodus 3:14, Habakkuk 1:12, Revelation 1:8, Isaiah 41:4)

• God is faithful. He is incapable of anything but fidelity. He is loyally devoted to his plan and purpose. (2 Timothy 2:13, Deuteronomy 7:9, Hebrews 10:23)

• God is good. God is pure. There is no defilement in him. He is unable to sin, and everything He does is good. 

• God is gracious. God is kind. He gives us gifts and benefits that we are undeserving of.

• God is holy. He is undefiled. He is unable to be in the presence of defilement. He is sacred. He is set apart. 

• God is immutable. He doesn’t change. He is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. 

• God is just even when you don’t think so. He governs in perfect justice. In Him, there’s no wrongdoing, no dishonesty, and no incongruence. He is consistently and perfectly just.

• God is loving. He is eternally, enduringly, steadfastly loving & affectionate. He does not forsake or betray his covenant love. (John 3:16)

• God is merciful and compassionate. He withholds the wrath that we are deserving of.

• God is omnipotent which means he is all-powerful. He has the unlimited power to accomplish all that can be accomplished.

• God is omnipresent which means he is everywhere. He is ubiquitous all the time, at all times, in the fullness of His being.

• God is omniscient. He is all-knowing. 

• God is righteous. He is blameless and upright. His goodness is accompanied by the good that He works. 

• God is sovereign. He has divine control over everything. Nothing is outside of his control.
