Hey, sista friend!
For the last couple of months, I provided tips and tactical takeaways to get consistent and show up for your daily quiet time with the Lord. Now, I’m bringing back Bible study episodes.
Studying God’s Word is so crucial to living a GOOD life. It’s a spiritual discipline that I’m devoted to helping you grow in. Today’s study will help you fight fear and find GODLY confidence, or as the social media peeps like to call it, GODFIDENCE.
I pray this blesses you!
Thank you, Erika, for sharing from God’s Word! “Just listened to the episode on 3 Psalms — Psalms 121, 91, and 27 are all so close to my heart. Thank you!

Last week, I asked the ladies over in the Facebook group to share their GO-TO verse when they’re going through a tough time. Isaiah 41:10 stood out to me! After praying and seeking the Lord about it, I’m excited to dig deeper into it with you today.
A Short Background Story
03.09 – The Israelites were all discouraged after the war with the Babylonians. So, by His prophet, Isaiah, God speaks to them. In the first verses of this chapter, God illustrates how mighty He is and follows up by telling Israel not to be afraid; that He hasn’t cast them off. He says, “I will” three times here, each time sharing something that is for the benefit and blessing of His people.
03.48 – A reminder for you that no matter what you’ve done, no matter what you’re carrying, no matter what you’re going through, the Lord sees you. He isn’t casting you off. He’s not writing you off. He’s not leaving you to do it by yourself and figure it out on your own. He’s with you in it. He is guiding you through it, so long as you are drawn nearer to him.
Bible Verse Study
04.10 – Do not fear
The Hebrew word yārē’ (yaw-ray) means fear. This is the same word used in several other verses in the Old Testament, including Genesis 3:10, when Adam responds to God and says, “I heard the sound of you in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked, and I hid myself.”
Don’t be afraid of me
Don’t be afraid of circumstances
04.49 – Do not look anxiously about you
The Hebrew word šāʿâ means to look at or to, regard, gaze at, or about (in anxiety)
IN ANXIETY means this is a state that we can be in. So, the Lord is telling us NOT to be in this state.
07.17 – For I am your God
The Hebrew word here is ‘ĕlōhîm. This is the same word used to name God in Genesis 1:1, “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.”
07.51 – I will strengthen you, surely I will help you; Surely I will uphold you with my righteous right hand
The very same God who created the heavens and the earth is the same God who will strengthen you, help you, and uphold you.
The word surely is the Hebrew word ‘ap̄ and it translates to “also,” “even, “yet…” So the Lord is speaking to Israel here and says to them, “Don’t be afraid! I’m your God. I’ll strengthen you. Also, I’ll help you. Also, I’ll uphold you.
With God, there’s no limit.
08.48 – Uphold is translated from the Hebrew word tāmaḵ. The biblical usage of this word includes to grasp, hold, support, attain, lay hold of, and hold fast.
So on top of the Creator of the heavens and the earth strengthening you and helping you, He’s also going to support you, to take hold of you with His righteous right hand. The very hand that Jesus sits beside – He is seated at the right hand of the Father. So, He is going to take hold of you with this hand Jesus sits at. This highlights how we can approach the Lord.
In John 14:6, Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” How else could we be joined to Him except through Jesus, who is seated at His right hand?
The main message here is that there is consolation for all who trust in Him.
So no matter what you’re going through, know that WHEN YOU TRUST IN HIM – when your gaze is fixed ON THE LORD – you receive His strength, help, and support.
11.29 – An invitation for you…
