02.36 – A little background on John 16:25-33 where Jesus is speaking to His disciples
I Have Overcome the World
25 “I have said these things to you in figures of speech. The hour is coming when I will no longer speak to you in figures of speech but will tell you plainly about the Father.
26 In that day you will ask in my name, and I do not say to you that I will ask the Father on your behalf;
27 for the Father himself loves you because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God.[a]
28 I came from the Father and have come into the world, and now I am leaving the world and going to the Father.”
29 His disciples said, “Ah, now you are speaking plainly and not using figurative speech!
30 Now we know that you know all things and do not need anyone to question you; this is why we believe that you came from God.”
31 Jesus answered them, “Do you now believe?
32 Behold, the hour is coming, indeed it has come, when you will be scattered, each to his own home, and will leave me alone. Yet I am not alone, for the Father is with me.
33 I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world, you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
06.12 – The deeper meaning of John 16:32
“Yet, I am not alone, for the Father is with me.”
Jesus helps us better understand the relationship between God, The Father, and God, The Son

09.11 – The deeper meaning of John 16:33
“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace.”
Apart from Christ, we do not experience peace.
11.30 – Why it is so important to be rooted in the word of God
It is one thing to be praying, “Lord, please take this away from me!” I plead with Him all the time. It is a different thing to sit down, discipline your flesh, and prioritize the time to be in the Word of God. It is you drawing nearer to Him, not just, asking out of pain and fear of whatever it is that you are going through, but sitting and being in a relationship with the Lord.
He is speaking to us through His living word. Jesus is the Word of God. In Jesus, we have peace. So naturally, when we are in the Word, there is peace that we experience.
13.02 – “In the world, you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
The word tribulation is translated from the Greek word “thlipsis.” Biblical usage of this word includes references to a pressing, pressing together, pressure. Metaphorically, it has been used to reference oppression, affliction, tribulation, distress, and straits.
“Take heart” also mean take courage
“Have overcome” is translated from the Greek word “nikaō.” Biblical usage of this word includes meaning to conquer, to carry off the victory, and come off victorious.
14.45 – Worship moment
See A Victory by Elevation Worship
I’m gonna see a victory
I’m gonna see a victory
For the battle belongs to You, Lord
I’m gonna see a victory
I’m gonna see a victory
For the battle belongs to You, Lord (oh yeah)
There’s power in the mighty name of Jesus
Every war He wages He will win
I’m not backing down from any giant
‘Cause I know how this story ends
Yes, I know how this story ends
16.03 – Why there is peace in Christ
Jesus conquered the world. He already overcame the job stress. He already got all your tasks for you. All you have to do is put your trust in Him. All you have to do is draw near to Him because, in Christ, there’s peace.
16.57 – The reality of a spiritual battle and your spiritual weapons
Worship
The Word of God
Prayer
Fasting if you feel like you’re under attack
Community / Facebook Group if you feel like you are alone
As you consider what it means for Jesus to have overcome the world, you understand that the reason we suffer from anxiety – afflicted with mental health issues, physical ailments, financial burdens, and relational issues – is because we are in the world.
The new heaven and the new earth have not come about yet. We are still in the world. Jesus knew we are going through all these things. He knows! He knows how you are going to respond.
And he tells you, “Take courage! Be of good cheer, and don’t worry about it.”
