Hey!
I never once thought I would have a deep love of God's Word or desire a deeper study of theology. God had other plans. So, I'm on a mission to share that love with other Christian women and help them discover it for themselves.

Hey Friend! Have you ever wondered where the name “Her Renewed Strength” came from?
“but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:31 NIV
In case you’re new here, Isaiah 40:31 is the cornerstone verse for Her Renewed Strength. This is the very verse that God gave Erika during her time in chemotherapy. She came across that verse continuously in a short span of time, prompting her to take a deeper look at what it said.

It was clear to Erika that the Lord was encouraging her to put her trust and faith in Him through this difficult time. It’s as if He was saying, “Erika, I will renew your strength, you just have to trust Me. Wait, my daughter.”
Because of God’s message to her, she named this business and podcast “Her Renewed Strength.” The goal of HRS is simple: exists to help you know God and grow in your trust in Him.
Spend time with the Lord.
The Lord reveals Himself and His promises to us through His Word. The only way we will know Him or what He’s said is by investing time reading the Bible. This is also the way many of us first learn about just how faithful He is. Every word, verse, story, trial, lesson, and song in God’s Word points us to Who He is and how we can know Him.
Our God is not mysterious. He WANTS us to know Him!
If you have a desire to know God but struggle to trust him, the answer is to read the Word. You can’t put your trust in God unless you know Him; unless you know that He will come through. God gave us the Word so that we could His faithfulness to Israel, the Prophets, Jesus, the disciples, and so many others.
There are a few non-negotiable spiritual disciplines you must engage in to build an intimate relationship with God, and one of them is to invest time in reading the Bible. Sure, it takes effort on your part, but the whole point is that HE gives you that strength.

Every time I have gone through a tough time, my tendency is to withdraw; to hide; to secure my own safety. I will turn into my phone because, in there, I don’t need to feel or think. I turn to food, because I get the instant gratification of “feeling better.” I turn to TV, because watching other people figuring out their problems is better than having to figure out my own.
The truth is, it’s a way to feel like I’m in control.
Turning to God is harder. It takes more effort. The other ways are easy because I don’t have to do the work. God’s path takes the control out of my hands and puts it in God’s hands. I need to surrender that control.
Only one path can lead to true strength. Only one path can lead to renewal.
Finding Renewed Strength feels so much better than abusing myself in order to hide away. Hiding might give the illusion of safety, but it’s just causing more pain; and delaying the deep relationship with God I desire and He calls me too.
He is my safety. He is the source of strength I need to get through the hard days or trials.
My faith is stretched when I go through hard things. My faith can grow if I am willing to put my trust in God and allow him to renew my strength.
A deep relationship is what God wants with you, as well. He is waiting for you, sister. He wants you to know Him so that you can trust Him, and so he can renew your strength. He wants you to wait on Him to help build up the spiritual strength you need to get through.

You cannot build resilience, the kind of resilience God gives, without trusting Him.
